Staunton-based episode of 'Psychic Detectives' to air on Court TV
City residents featured in piece about 1979 rape By Ruth Jones/staff STAUNTON— Court TV wrapped up its final day of filming in the city for a third-season episode of Psychic Detectives on Monday. The show will feature psychic Noreen Renier, who gave key clues to Staunton police detectives Lacy King and Ronnie Whisman in 1979 that helped them find serial rapist James Robinson. There had been five rapes in the city. Police arrested Robinson in 1980. The group has been filming in the city since last Tuesday and shot most of the episode downtown. Both King and Whisman were part of the final filming on Monday, along with Renier, as they staged the detectives interviewing her and receiving clues. It was the first police case Renier worked, kick-starting her 25-year career as a police psychic. She now resides in Charlottesville. The episode will be aired this summer when the new season begins. Psychic Detectives airs at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
